A Framework Agreement was Signed between The New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research and Zhejiang University to Initiate Science and Technology Collaboration

Zhejiang University signed a framework agreement with the New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research at the online conference on Feb. 4th. The parties agreed to conduct science and technology collaboration on areas including genome research, food quality and product supply chain technology.



Prof. Yang Bo, the Dean of the Science & Technology Academy of ZJU, hosted the conference. She extended warm welcome to all the attendees, and introduced them.

Prof. Wang Lizhong, the Vice President of ZJU, delivered a speech introducing ZJU. He said that ZJU has conducted productive science and technology collaboration with universities, research institutes, international organizations and overseas companies across the globe. He hopes that the collaboration between the two parties will deliver more academic results that promote economic development and improve people’s lives for both parties.

Mr. Liao Chuanjie, Deputy Director of Division of S&T Cooperation of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, attended the conference and gave a speech. He introduced that Zhejiang Province had been striving to establishing an innovative and internationalized province that serve the nation with S&T innovation and regional economic and social development. China and New Zealand have a long history of S&T innovation collaboration. He hopes that through the framework agreement, more research results can be utilized and industrialized, driving S&T innovation and economic and social development of Zhejiang Province.

Prof. Chen Kunsong, Assistant President of ZJU and Dr. Gavin Ross, Group General Manager of Marketing & Innvation of Plant & Food Research signed the agreement.



Plant & Food Research is a New Zealand government-owned Crown Research Institute. It’s a major plant and food research institute in New Zealand.
