ZJU's Approval Rate of 2015 National Social Science Fund Projects Hits Record High

The result of the 2015 National Social Science Fund Projects was announced on June 25. A total of 37 Zhejiang University projects (including 3 projects from independent colleges) were approved and the number of the approved projects ranked 3rd among the institutions of higher learning in China. This year, our university applied for 125 projects in total with the approval rate reaching an all-time high at 27.2%, far higher than the national average approval rate of 13.7%.

Our university has been very impressive in terms of the winning of major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China in recent years. It came in 4th in 2013 and jumped to the 2nd place in 2014. A total of 7 major projects were approved in 2015, second only to Renmin University of China.

Among the C9 League, our university ranked 2nd in the total number of approved projects, 1st in the number of major projects, and 3rd in the number of both general projects and youth projects.

Submitted projects in our university covered 20 different disciplines except Party history and Party construction, statistics and ethnic issues while approved projects dealt with 17 disciplines, including linguistics, laws, theoretical economics, world history, politics, international issues, etc.
