Faculty with Senior Professional Titles Serving as Advisers for Freshmen

August 22th was the freshman registration day. It’s found on this day that quite a lot of faculty members with senior professional titles serve as class advisers for the 206 freshman classes.
 
Zhejiang University is encouraging outstanding professors to advise undergraduate students for the purpose of better cultivating students. After all, cultivating students is always the priority of the university. Highly qualified teachers’ guidance will benefit students a lot with their profound academic thinking and rich social experiences.
 
It’s the first time that an academician has taken the role of class adviser for freshmen. Academician Zhang Ze with Department of Materials Science and Engineering is the adviser for Mixed Class at Chu Kochen Honors College this year. Zhang commented that he was ready to explore and learn from this new job.
 
Professor Jiang Quanyuan, PhD supervisor with School of Electrical Engineering, is also an adviser for freshmen this year. Professor Jiang said that he hoped the extensive experience and network of human resources of professors would help in students’ development.
