From May 22 to 25, 2011 Hangzhou International Polymer Forum (HIPF) was held at Zhejiang University. The forum was co-organized by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Polymer Division, Chinese Chemical Society, Zhejiang University Compartment of State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering and Key Laboratory of Macromolecular Synthesis and Functionalization, Ministry of education. About 145 scholars from 9 countries attended the meeting. Professor Li Bogeng of Zhejiang University and Professor Zhu Shiping from McMaster University chaired the forum.
Dozens of distinguished experts participated in the forum and presented their researches and latest findings on a variety of topics. As an important event of 2011 International Year of Chemistry in China, this forum aimed at further promoting communication and cooperation between researchers in polymer science and engineering, academia and industry, and the international status of research in related fields in China. The topics covered advanced polymers and polymer technology, controlled / free radical polymerization, new metal-organic catalysts, olefin polymerization, macromolecular reaction engineering, energy-related polymer materials and so on. 5 papers were voted to be the best doctoral theses presented at the forum and won award granted by WACKER company.
