International Symposium on Applications of Nanotechnology and Biosensors in Agriculture and Food Held in Hangzhou

From April 13 to 16, International Symposium on Applications of Nanotechnology and Biosensors in Agriculture and Food was held in Hangzhou. The symposium was sponsored by Zhejiang University and National Institute of Food and Agriculture of U.S. Department of Agriculture. Altogether 76 representatives from both home and abroad participated in the symposium, from 42 universities and institutions such as National Institute of Food and Agriculture of U.S. Department of Agriculture, Cornell University, Purdue University, Pennsylvania State University etc. Academician Wang Maohua and Luo Xiwen from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Norm Scott from U.S. Academy of Engineering attended the symposium.

 

The development and prospect of today’s cutting-edge technologies, nanotechnology and biosensors, and their applications in agriculture and food were the topic of this international symposium. 13 distinguished international experts were invited to make keynote lectures on the above-mentioned topics. After the lectures and reports, experts and representatives from different parts of the world held lively discussions.

 

On the morning of April 16, members of the symposium visited the School of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science on Zijingang campus.
