Students Outdoor Botany Practice in North America for the First Time

On July 21, 2010, College of Life Science organized students going to North America for outdoor botany practice, which synchronize the national practice course of Tanmusan Botany Practice Base. Four faculty members and nine students, led by Prof. Chengxin Fu, had launched a three week summer joint curriculum of North America Flora and Bionomics, by means of listening academic reports and teaching, carrying on outdoor specimen collection and plant recognition, inspecting the North America ecological environment, and studying the difference and history of floristics in East Asia and North America.

 

The joint curriculum project of Life Science College of Zhejiang University, and North Carolina State University, started in 2008. This year is the third year of the cooperation, and Zhejiang University students went to North Carolina for study for the first time.
