From June 1 to June 5, a delegation from the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, visited Zhejiang University. With 4 professors and 10 students, the delegation came to College of Animal Sciences for academic exchange.
Professor Ferguson and Professor Galligan are mainly engaged in nutrition and disease prevention research in dairy industry. They have published a lot of research papers in Journal of Dairy Science. Professor Sasser’s main research interest is pregnancy diagnosis of cows. During the visit, the three professors gave three lectures. Prof. Ferguson gave a lecture entitled “Productive data analysis”, addressing standardized data sas analysis. Prof. Galligan’s lecture was about “Product risk-type I & II error”, introducing data analysis model of economic gains in dairy industry. Prof. Sasser introduced the latest technology and its application in early pregnancy diagnosis of cows in his lecture “New technology for early pregnancy diagnosis”.
The delegation also visited the experiment ranch of the Institute of Dairy Science located in Lin’an.
