A Delegation from the Children's Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine Attended PAS 2010 in Vancouver

In May, a team of 9 experts from the Children’s hospital attended 2010 Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting in Vancouver.

 

The lectures and seminars in PAS 2010 cover the latest pediatric research and information on public health, research methodology, teaching skills and so on. On the first day, Professor Du Lizhong, President of the Children’s Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine, gave a lecture on “An epidemiological survey on bilirubin encephalopathy in newborns in China”, introducing the general situation of cases and the main clinical features of bilirubin encephalopathy in newborns in more than 30 hospitals in China, and made comparisons with those of developed countries. After the lecture, Professor Du was invited to global pediatric research symposium and discussed the research plans on the reduction of bilirubin encephalopathy with international counterparts.

 

In addition, experts from the Children’s Hospital presented their papers in the workshops, including “Maternal and child iron status”, “Activated T cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of children patients with mycoplasma pneumonia”, etc. The progresses in some major research projects were also introduced.
