On May 11, co-sponsored by IBM and Zheijang University, "IBM Zhejiang University Day" was held at Zhejiang University. The two sides summed up the cooperation in the past years and discussed plans for future cooperation.
Professor Wu Zhaohui, Vice President of Zhejiang University, attended the opening ceremony. Professor Zhu Jun, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang University Development Committee, made a lecture entitled "Bio-computing challenges: Analysis of complex traits". Mr. Mao Xinsheng, CTO of IBM Development Lab China, gave a lecture “Wisdom of the earth and the prospect of new technology”.
In June 2009, the first "IBM Zhejiang University Day" was held in Beijing. Zhejiang University and IBM China signed a memorandum of cooperation. In the past year, School of Software Engineering and IBM jointly established the Department of Software and Service Engineering and enrolled its first class of 42 students for graduate program. A year later, 23 of these students are now working as interns in IBM Development Center in Beijing and Shanghai.
