On Mar. 30, Chancellor Roger Field, Director Marketing and Communications Charlotte Mayne of Lincoln University, New Zealand, Educational Counsellor for China Guergana Guermanoff and her assistant Ms. An Jiangqun visited Zhejiang University. Vice-President Si Jianmin met with the delegation.
Vice-President Si Jianmin briefed the guests on the development of our school, particularly in reference to the advanced research and study in agricultural science. Chancellor Roger Field introduced the history of Lincoln University and the disciplines of advantage. The two sides agree that the advanced research on agricultural science in both universities has laid a solid foundation for the cooperation between each other.
Lincoln University was founded in 1878 and is one of the oldest universities in New Zealand. Lincoln University enjoys high reputation in research in agriculture and forestry.
The delegation was making this visit to enhance mutual understanding and to further negotiations on "Zhejiang University – Guizhou University – Lincoln University Cooperation Project". The three universities plan to sign collaborative agreements concerning substantial cooperation and exchanges in study on non-point pollution, food security and so on in June in Shanghai. The delegation also visited the key laboratories in School of Biosystem Engineering and Food Science and School of Agriculture and Biotechnology.
