The 2010 iF Material Award attracted groups and individual participants from over 40 countries. After several rounds of rigorous and professional screening, only nine designs become the ultimate winners, as iF Material Award 2010 Competition Best 9. Works “Transformable Mat”, “Bamboo O-pen”, “Acid-Umbrella” and “UTape” developed by Zhejiang University students won four seats of the nine. Exhibition and award presentation ceremony will be held in Hannover in April as a part of the Hannover Fair.
So far, Zhejiang University has won most iF awards in China. Department of Industrial Design, Zhejiang University, has received a total of 12 iF awards including iF Concept Design and iF Material Award.
iF Award, together with German Red Dot Award and U.S. IDEA Award, is regarded as one of the world's major design awards and most authoritative design competitions.
