On Jan. 15th, the ceremony for the foundation of ZJU-UoL International Centre for Sustainable Energy Sciences and Technologies (“ZUICSEST”) was held in International Convention Center, Zijingang Campus. ZUICSEST is designed to provide chances for further academic cooperation and exchange between University of Leeds and Zhejiang University on sustainable energy sciences and energy saving.
Prof. Richard Williams, Pro Vice Chancellor of University of Leeds, signed Agreement of Cooperation with Ni Mingjiang, Vice President of ZJU, and Cen Kefa, Dean of College of Mechanical and Energy Engineering. Based on the Agreement, the two sides will make joint efforts to diversify their ways of academic cooperation, including joint research and graduate programs, international conferences, academic visits and so on. Research areas of ZUICSEST include renewable energy, the utilization of fossil energy, coal gasification and combustion, CO2 control and recycling, development of alternative energy, etc. (ZJU NEWS)
