摘 要:

Given the rapid state of global technological advancements, opportunities are emerging which can benefit indigent populations within the low/middle income countries of Southern and Eastern Africa. In light of their respective states of development, these countries may be well-suited to adopt new FinTech technologies which allow for leapfrogging over past expensive infrastructure investments. The questions that emerge are, which technologies can be leveraged in these countries to enable (1) eBanking, and (2) eCommerce. Studies note, the benefits of FinTech and other digital services, which can act as a poverty reduction catalyst through increasing saving, formalizing businesses and empowering small businesses and entrepreneurs.
